About the Artist
Hi! I'm Alyssa, owner and creator at Songbird Spirals. I'm a fiber artist working from my home studio surrounded by plants and peaceful vibes. I've always felt most at home when I am creating something. Music and art were always important in my family. My favorite gifts growing up were the art supplies, how-to books, musical instruments and a sewing machine. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay in 2012. Although painting was my focus at the time, I found my way back to fiber art at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping my hands busy tying knots provided a comfort when the world felt out of control. In 2022, I started teaching macramé workshops at the Trout Museum of Art in Appleton, Wisconsin and it's been a great joy sharing with others the meditative effects of a rhythmic slow craft.
